Um… My understanding is that homicide is part of an MCU. Some PDs don’t have a division they call an MCU, but in those that do (to the best of my knowledge) it includes the detectives working homicide. The Tracyville MCU handles stolen board games (that’s major?) but needs to call the homicide division about a murder?
How about something like, “Lee, see if forensics has come up with anything new,” or “Lee, see if the coroner has found an explanation for the erratic behavior before the murder.”
Sigh… Once upon a time, and very long ago it was, Tracy would even peer into a microscope himself to remind readers than police used something called science and not simply coincidence to solve crimes.
(I was taught a before a consonant sound, an before a vowel sound. So a mouse, an MCU.)
While nothing is happening, it is a good time to take a vacation. I will be out of the country all next week and don’t know when I’ll be able to get an internet connection. I’m leaving this morning on a cruise with two of my wife’s cousins and their husbands, 3 couples. We are cruising to Puerto Rico, St. Martins, and the Eastern Caribbean. See you all in a week. I don’t think I’ll miss much here.
1-DT:* Ok. Ima count to 3 and when I turn around, you’d all better be standing at attention! 1…
2-:*…2…
3-:* ..3! EXCELLENT! Now Sam – How many fingers am I holding up? SAM: Uhhhh, one? DT: And if I SAY I’m holding up two, how many? SAM: Two…? DT: Liz – do you and Lee agree that I’m hold up two if I say it’s two? LIZ & LEE: SIR, YES SIR! DT: It appears that I’ve assembled a competent and loyal cabi…team. DIS-MISSED!
“Mr. McFeely! He covers the whole area around their HQ, and I’m SURE he’s read letters before delivering them to the CEO! Just a guess, from that Rolls Royce postal carrier and the mink-lined mailman hat.”
It seems obvious that Curtis has ceded authority for this strip to Mr. Pseudo Chandler, aka Eric Costello. From earlier examples this means Saga length, boring stories with no interesting villains, suspense, or use of long standing characters, Mr. Toler is correct; he’ll miss nothing. just like a soap opera which you can avoid for 6 months and immediately pick up where one leaves off. The strip has gone over the horizon I’m afraid. But 90+ years ain’t bad.
Part 8 of my second dick tracy story has FINALLY been posted (tho I forgot to mark it as part 8, so check under part 7 to find it)..after almost a 2 year gap! Sorry about that, work and everything else got in the did coming up with a suitable name for mayor Armstrong’s nephew…but I came up with it… AND along with Armstrong’s nephew, I ALSO introduced THREE other new characters who will have a role in this…and upcoming, stories…one is based on a real life radio personality around my area

MOMENTA LATER, Tracy’s finger went off, putting a tragic end to a nest of rare Pottsylvanian bats that were nesting about the ceiling.
Two words, Tracy: SAFETY and ON.
