Finally, Tiffany deserves some peace of mind away from bad company

But wasn’t her solitude the reason why she ate too much and gained all the weight to begin with?

Now I’m foreseeing yet another continuation of this arc where all of that peace, quiet, and solitude actually makes Tiff all paranoid because she’d gotten so used to the dorm drama, that she actually changes her mind and decides to move back in with them, lest being all alone in that big empty mansion drive her crazy . . . which means the arc will probably drag on for another week or two.

She needs one guy. A nice one.

There no warm colors in these interior shots of the SpaManse. If there were audio there would be violins playing creepy music. Note to Tiffany when taking a shower LOCK THE DOORS! And maybe tuck one of Daddy’s golf clubs in with you.

Get a roommate (of your choosing with a strong contract and vetting to weed out the dorm drama girls). You have a mansion. Some girl (guy?) Will be thrilled to live there. Not Bets.

Sadly the lonliness starts to set in. I HOPE this dosen’t change her mind. An idea I had (and may use for a rather large fan work i’m doing, haven’t decided yet), is her opening it up to renters. I mean i’m not sure her dad would go for it, but given said tenants would be responsible for damages and what not and it’d be extra money, a way for his daughter to make money that isn’t liablity prone up the yin yang (as unlike the weremanse there’s contracts here), and it’d mean said daughter wouldn’t be alone in a giant house.

The diva is finally home!

It looked like Tara didn’t have a home. We didn’t find out what happened to her. So a remote possibility of Tara getting into the picture.

A big house like that with few if any drapes or rugs is a huge echo chamber. Every noise is amplified and reverberated, including voice. I’ve been in rooms like that.

Hey, where’s HowTheDuck these days? Am I just missing her comments some how? They’re like a car accident: horrible, but you gotta look. Hope she’s ok.

That “Solitude” is unnerving. She will soon find solitude is not all it seems to be. She’s in a freaking gothic-looking mansion. Someone can break in and she’d not know. Yeah, lots of home invaders know how to disable home protection systems. They’re a waste of money. Dogs are still the best protection. She should consider getting a dog or two. Two Dobermans or German Shepherds. The Dobermans stay in her room overnight and German Shepherds patrol the mansion.

That last caption of “SOLITUDE” might be a harbinger of strange events about to happen..

That’s a LOT of total solitude. I’d still take it over dealing with her neurotic dorm mates.

Hoo – boy, Tiff’s dad must have been really p i s s e d when he called to shut down the waremanse. He not only got rid of the business, but he also got rid of the garage as well. If you look at the middle panel on July 14th, the garage is open with the stored stuff inside just to the right of the big bush that is to the right of the three windows just right of the front door. In today’s last panel, the garage was replaced by a wall with a window in it that matches the other three front windows.

After a semester with her crazy roommates I’d crave solitude myself.

I think that solitude is going to be broken by an intruder (a vengeful AE perhaps?) I hope not, but I think that’s where this is heading.

Suddenly I’m reminded of the three bear’s “Somebody’s been sleeping in my bed,” bit……,

I get the feeling that somehow her solitude is going to be disrupted.

The way the scene was set and the cavernous way the Mansion is drawn causes me to believe that solitude is not going to last long.

So. Dez and Bets are dorm divas, too?

If Tiff does get lonely, she can always invite guests to visit her—for a short time.

And she’s absolutely right about the “dorm divas”!!

BTW, I bet that wing on the far left is the spa.

Temporary relief. Tiffany’s longing-to-be-social nature will creep back in. Sure, she could invite the quad queens over, have an open-visit-anytime offer, but it would not be everyday interaction and the others probably wouldn’t feel like walking or driving over to the manse. Right now, Tiff still has a bunk there, so Tiff may still spend a lot of time socializing.

Still wondering why Tom hangs on to a ridiculously large house like that. There are only two people in his family and he’s never home. In real life the property taxes and utilities would be insane.

And whatever walked there, walked alone…

About a few hours later, Tiff will miss the dorm divas…

Maybe with all this empty space she can get her own comic strip and give this one back to the character whose name is in the title (last non-Sunday strip Luann actually appeared in was 33 days ago).

This is not a happy ending. Tiffany’s only fear is being alone and now there she is. If Bets and Dez are really friends with her, they have to go see her. If Gunther is the one who will visit her, I would be happy.

She has classes, social events, and the fuse to keep her busy. If going home alone after all that makes her feel lonely she can always invite people over. And if she finds a nice guy eventually they’ll have all the privacy they could wish for.

It’s not all or nothing at all. Girlfriend has it made.

We all know that Tiff has loneliness and abandonment issues. She’ll definitely invite someone to come over.

Wonder if Annie Awful Eiffel is upstairs squatting in the recently vacant mansion?

It works if you are a hermit, but not if you seek/need social exposure and Tiffany does.

That can be nice sometimes. But you’ll find it grating after a while. How long that takes depends on the person.

she’s just there for weekend

I’ve been following this strip since the “Aaron Hill” days (1985) and I don’t recollect Tiff ever having a real friend. She KNOWS a lot of people, but I’ve never seen her have a friend, someone she can count on or invite to live in the mansion with her.

The inside of this mansion is much grander than the outside. That entrance wouldn’t fit.

Were the housekeeper, cook and gardener fired? Seems she’s right back where she was August last year. There are many possibilities, but this may be the lull before the (another) storm. Tiff interacts with the dorm gang, not so much Luann these days, and the Fuse bunch. Maybe this takes us to Kafe Kablooie? §:-o

Way back when I was young, single, and in the military, after having to live in a barracks(Like a dorm for Gen Z) for 3 years I was allowed to move into an apartment due to not enough barracks. Most of the other guys in my unit got a roommate and rented a 2br apt close to the base. I very happily rented a 1br apt several miles from the base

Tiff closed the door on Ox after leaving the chaos of the dorm. How soon will loneliness sink in? Ten, nine, eight…

I she happy or is the solitude not her thing anymore???

Solitude will be past tense when Tiff discovers that daddy has a new roommate/playmate, currently using the shower……with daddy.

Prediction: Ox will declare his love. in the not-too-distant future. Possibly shortly after Tiff has expressed an interest in another.

Everything screams “set up for a scare.”

Met up with Greg and Karen in KC recently. Just letting everybody know they are flesh and blood human beings, friendly and hard working as ever.

Tiffany will not be home alone that much. She still has classes and her job at the Fuse. She will have plenty of time with other people.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN, BUT NEVER WILL.

Someone knocks on the door of the mansion. Tiff opens it to find Luann. Luann begs Tiff to let her stay, just for a few hours, because she absolutely cannot put up with Bernice any longer. She tells Tiff that Bernice’s fat, lazy brother has finally taken his kids and moved out of their parent’s home, but Bernice won’t move back, and Luann’s parents won’t make her. She explains that Bernice has gotten even more vicious and venomous with her snide, insulting remarks, and she (Luann) can’t take it anymore. Tiff, having just gotten out of a toxic situation herself, is sympathetic. She tells Luann she can stay for a while. The two order pizza, and sit around talking, getting to know each other as people, not just rivals. Not immediately, but eventually, a friendship develops, and Tiff invites Luann to live at the mansion with her.

Yeah, yeah I know——-major wishful thinking on my part, but I see no reason why the two of them can’t forget the past and be friends. Neither one seems to have any real friends (Bernice doesn’t count——she’s no one’s friend) so why not let Lu and Tiff develop a friendship? Tiff has grown up some, and it would be really nice if G&K would let Luann do the same. She really needs to get out of her parents’ house, and AWAY from Bernice.

If Tiffany gets lonely, I trust she’ll invite Dez to stay with her. She’s a far better choice than that soulless moneygrubber Bets!

I am confused about the solitude. Doesn’t the Farrell family have a chef that cooks for them in the mansion?

Foreshadowing much?

Up until the pandemic I was either married or in a relationship. The last few years I’ve lived alone and I’ve found that in many ways I prefer it. I think Tiff should get a dog, not for protection but for companionship. That way she won’t be as apt to make bad decisions about room mates. Further, I think she should talk to her dad and ask his suggestions. Maybe he’ll pay for a private room at Muni.

Like to see how things are back at the dorm … Bets and Dez seem to be falling into discord. And then there’s Stephanie! An implosion still to come??!! …

When you consider the statistics of sexual assault on college campus’ in the US now-days, Tiffany is safer at home, but G&K are going to drag the suspense out while everyone waits for the inevitable main event – an intruder in the mansion and Ox showing up to save Tiffany.

There is a perfect solution for Tiff’s eventual loneliness – she could adopt a darling German Shepherd puppy. Can Greg draw a German Shepherd puppy? I would love to see his rendition. Then she could meet some fun people at puppy training classes, and a handsome hunk when the puppy gets his security dog training

That’s great for awhile Tiff, but eventually it could lead to boredom.

I believe she is very happy NOW and reveling in the silence. However, two people have already foreshadowed that when night falls she might become frightened. First, Bets called the mansion “spooky” and later Ox asked her if she was going to be ok all alone in a big, dark house. I think those comments may play on her nerves and kick her imagination into high gear. When that happens will she call on Cop Ox????

In a place that big you have to close off in a room so as not to feel scared and overwhelmed. i would pick a room near the kitchen and with a bathroom nearby.

I’m wondering why there’s no staff for such a big house. Shouldn’t there be a cook and a housekeeper, at least?

Now she can recover from the toxicity and focus on her studies. Let’s hope her grades improve while she’s able to relax in her hot tub.
