Just a question for the loyal followers of this strip. While Gunther was cooking a five course dinner for his date with Tiffany, Lester told Gunther that Tiffany would be having dessert with him at 8PM. If you had been in Gunther’s place, what would you have done, and when would you have done it?
Another question. Yesterday, someone named Scoutmaster 77 wrote: “This story not over yet. BMG – BLG – BFG ;-).” I’ve racked my brain as to what AMG-ALG-AFG means. I even looked it up in an acronym dictionary, both together and separately. It means nothing all together. Separately, there are thousands of meanings. I must be behind the times, but I am very curious what it means. Thanks.
Don’t be so certain, Gunther. Just because Tiff walked out on you doesn’t mean she intends to walk out on Les as well. She still had a date/appointment with him.
This might be a good thing here. Remember Le$ Telling Pru he hated living with Gunther? Well THIS little FUBAR might make him so mad that “He” not Gunther, will move out.
Gunther May lose Tiffany to the Thug, But he may gain a solo bachelor pad.
1) They will have a big argument, triggered by Gunther’s immaturity and Les’ attitude of entitlement. 2) the adrenalin will settle and they’ll end up pigging out on the various leftovers.3) They may even find them quite delicious as they eat their way into a decreased state of crabbiness. Les may even come to appreciate his cellmate’s talents.
I’m honestly surprised that Les didn’t go for the “d*ck in a box” thing. Good lord, there’s honest about your intentions, and then there’s this. The horniness is radiating off him like the fumes off a gasoline spill. Tiffany really dodged a bullet here tonight.
They both got what they deserved. Nothing and may lead to them eventually getting their own places. Besides, she sees them both only as “Pals” so no sparks would’ve flew especially with them both there in the same place at the same time.
Gunther has the sensitivity of a bulldozer, while Les is actually more sensitive here. I know some people here may see that as impossible, but it is obvious he appears to expressing feelings for Tiffany. Romantic feelings. I don’t think she is romantically inclined toward either of them, rather she is fond of them as the Brits would say. Gunther’s jealousy toward Les’s feelings backfired and even the friendship could be in jeopardy. Will Les and Gunther pummel each other? I doubt it, they will end up kind of sad, which they are.
To those that hope she’ll return to keep Les’ date? Ain’t gonna happen. Gunther already poisoned that well by telling her Les’ BIG expectation. So they’re both showed up as losers in the relationship dept.
Well, I tend to feel Gunther is continuing down his arc of poor behavior. Even though I can understand his mistaken belief that this is all Les’ fault.. and that he (Gunther) had only been (very poorly) trying to do some good… he is still not doing the more appropriate thing. He should have at least told Les that Tiffany had left (ahead of this time).
Gunther, however, is having great difficulty seeing anything lately beyond his own emotions and his own insecurities. While I can very much understand feeling the way he does, he is very truthfully only hurting himself through his current viewpoint. As difficult as it is for him… he needs to get a more global perspective. He needs to better try to look at things from TIffany’s perspective and yes, even from Les’ perspective. And, by this I mean not the knee-jerk “Tiffany is too unaware to understand, so I need to educate her” and the “Les is just a bully-creepazoid.” overly simplistic way he tends to view the thoughts and emotions of these two.
If he were to get a better perspective on other’s deeper thoughts and emotions, he could better fit his own painful emotions into a better perspective and be able to make better decisions.
So, now… it seems that tomorrow, Gunther and Les will fight about why Tiffany left. And, that may continue into Saturday where probably Les (or shudder Les & Gunther) both start to head over to Tiffany’s dorm. Then we resume again in who knows what fashion with these three confronting each other on Monday.
Well Greg is all over the place with the Tiff character. First she gets flushed over Gunther. Then falls for Les’ line at the dinner. Then takes Gunth’s advice and tosses Les’ card. Then porks up. Then forges an alliance with Les, to Gunth’s chagrin. Then gives Les the come-on over The List. Then has an “epiphany” over body acceptance. Then makes a big play for Jack.
Now in this episode she, at first, sounds conciliatory with Gunth over the doubled date (as it were) then gets her snoot out of joint and huffs off.
So many are concerned that Gunther ruined the “friendship” that existed between him and Tiffany. What friendship? She’s a taker. Remember the episode when Tiffany very much wanted to go to a pretty boy band concert, and it was impossible to get tickets? Gunther was able to get two tickets and asked Tiffany to go with him. She said yes and took the tickets. Then she called Gunther, saying she couldn’t go because she was “sick.” Later, it turns out, Tiffany used the tickets to go to the concert with Aaron Hill. Aaron had no idea about the previous arrangement with Gunther or that the tickets belonged to Gunther, and when he found out what happened, he told Gunther about it. Gunther was, of course, very upset and told Tiffany off. Surely Gunther’s memory isn’t bad enough to not recall Tiffany’s underhanded behavior. Gunther should never have asked her out again, much less prepared a five course dinner for her.
How can Les not know Tiff already left? You mean to tell me old sleazy didn’t have his ear glued to the bedroom door trying to eavesdrop? And I’m sure Gunth and Tiff, especially Tiff, weren’t speaking in whispers. Just how far IS the bedroom from the living room/kitchen area?
Let’s see. Gunther and Les have enough time to begin a fight. I like the idea of Tiffany appearing for the second “date” and seeing them in the midst of their fight. She would have rather kept Leslie as a friend, I think once that ship sailed.
Another observation. A few people seem anxious for a fight between these two, as if it would be great entertainment. Gunther could actually be hurt. So many people dislike Gunther for what he says, and believe he deserves a beating for that. Look at what Gunther does for other people. I could name at least a hundred good things he has done for others. He deserves much better than he has been getting.
Tomorrow Gunther tells Les that Tiffany left when he urged her not to stay for dessert. Saturday Les goes next door and asks, “Uncle Al, can you put me in touch with a good hit man?”
I think Les did pretty good for a young naive guy. I had a date where I make homemade lasagna, salad and garlic bread. My date offered to bring dessert. Some mexican pastries from the local supermarket, in the grocery bag with the store logo. And my date was 36.
For the life of me I cannot understand what she see in either of them. Gunther is nice, but clueless and a drip. Les is a bit sleezy and not at all attractive. At that age I would be looking for someone more attractive, nice, and at least somewhat intelligent. (now, I’d let up on the attractive trait).
It’s really kind of stupid to get worked up over a simple cartoon, but all this sympathy for pathetic Gunther and none for Les is really beginning to annoy me!
