By Bets’ comment, I think she didn’t buy the lot – she’ll only post the items and split the money. Having lived in the dorm, I know for summer school, both tuition and boarding have to be paid before summer school begins due to condensed semester. So it looks like Tiffany won’t get her boarding money until Bets has sold all of the items? Will that be before summer school begins? Otherwise she will only have tuition paid by daddy and still have no place to stay. As some of you suggested, she might end up rooming with Bets.

Guess this isn’t my week to be able to comment.

Well, there goes the speculation that Bets was going to buy the entire “collection” and the 50% was no longer applicable. However, with Tif giving Bets the expensive piece of Souffle lingerie, I suspect we have a new game.

Bets’s comment gives us hope that her relationship with Gunther will escalate.

PS: One more revelation: Apparently, Bets is on a Budget, too. She may really NEED that 50% commission AND a job to make ends meet. A Tiffany/Bets alliance seems MORE likely by the minute. I may be misremembering, but Tiffany seems pretty generous with the Soufflé lingerie. Especially for a girl with severe and unaccustomed money problems. I don’t remember how she interacted with Crystal in high school. Crystal was a Goth fashionista back in the day and commiserated with Valley Girlish fashionista Tiffany. They wouldn’t trade items back then, their looks were too different.

This is not the behavior of the vain, self-centered and shallow Tiffany many think her to be. At least, not to the same degree!

This is how Gunther reacts when faced with a sexual situation. He is awkward and uncomfortable. He would never be able to have sex with a woman in this condition. Do any women here find his behavior sexually attractive? I don’t.

Bets is exhibiting that part of girlfriends that look upon their boyfriends a cute pets. Every once in awhile they’ll dangle little toys in front of him an tease him. I would hazard she feels she has him “under control” at this point. ;o)

It’s fun to see Greg pursue a new story line…This one has me recalling the early stages of the Brad and Toni relationship…A lot of speculation…a lot of hopeful ideas…I think most of us got what we wanted in that line, which is still developing as Toni’s niece provides an interesting arc for parenting for that couple. Tiff has always been represented as a shallow narcissist but this line may open some doors none of us seen coming. I am also hopeful that the Bets and Gun line move is a solid direction…It’s been fun watching them grow up. I also admit a desire to see Tiff really come into her own in a spectacular and positive way.

Quick (OK, possibly lingering) research at a website for a well-known US lingerie brand (I hope y’all appreciate the sacrifices I make for these comments) suggests that the camisole, there, would be about a $30 – $50 item and the other one probably $50 – 60.

Souffle is a LOT more exclusive – even more so than, say, Ferragamo shoes – so figure 4 to 8 (possibly more; clothes can get stratospheric fast) times those prices for items purchased from Souffle retailers.

NWT on eBay – maybe about two-thirds the retail price? So the camisole, if they were going to sell it, would be eBayed for, say, $200. Time for setup, photography, posting, packaging, addressing and shipping, maybe about 20 minutes/item. If that’s an average item, three items/hour = $600/hour. Shipping costs, including packaging, packaging materials and possibly insurance, maybe about $10 each. Call it $30/hour. Three items/hour = $570 net.

Given the high value of the items, the mooted 50% does seem high (I think Bets was thinking lower-end merch and that shipping would be half of the Bun cost), but 25% of the net after shipping still seems reasonable…$142.50/hour for Bets and Gunther, which is high…still some room for negotiation there. However, even that leaves $142.50 per item for Tiff, which is only a little less than she would have paid if she (or Tom) paid half the retail price ($150 in this case) due to the relationship with Souffle senior management…which is probably consistent with Souffle employee pricing.

That box is going to hold a LOT of those very items, and the 26’ U-Haul is parked out of frame, and we haven’t even started with shoes yet…

…so, yes, the dorm room this year should be no problem. Not a sustainable business model but not bad for being asked to come up with cash in a big hurry. Well-done Tiff. Nicely moguled.
