So the girl with a superiority complex who gets off by being a ‘Muse’ is critical about someone else’s ego issues? I don’t think so!

I really don’t see Bernice getting an invite to come back to Tiff’s house any time soon. lol

It’s good to see Luann and the girls finally heading to the pool…

We may finally get to the pool party. What are the odds that Kip was left for the day? I’d say about 100%. And Bernice is practicing psychology without a license.

While Bernice can be abrasive, she’s not without insight; except with herself. Frankly, ALL THREE of these characters share many of the same personality deficits. Especially at this point in the Luann strip.

This is the only pool party I’ve ever seen where the hostess is hiding in her room away from her guests.

I get the feeling this is everything and more that Benice wanted to call Tiff out on back in their school days. And by golly, she’s not about to waste that opportunity!

That’s the way to talk Luann, to the pool and what a good advice to the professor, to shut up!

It will be easy for Bernice to compile that spreadsheet. She just has to put all her problems into it and say they’re Tiffany’s problems. Bernice is definitely the one that craves the most for attention in this strip. In the trio Luann is the one who has more capacity to face her blocks, that’s why she’s the one who stopped the discussion and proposed to finally go to the pool. I think this trio has never been more united than this and being friends with Luann will jelp Tiffany a lot. But I’m afraid Bernice is now making up her mind to “help” Tiffany… It would be a disaster!

It would be funny if Kip started hitting on Luann. i don’t think he’s really met her, has he?

Appreciate the relatively modest suits the ladies all chose. Considering what we normally see in modern times, I think even Luann’s two-piece is conservatively presented. Thank you for this.

Tiff, Kip isn’t “some other girls guy”. He’s not a possession nor a toy to be won at the county fair.

Kip will be with whomever he chooses to (assuming the other person is willing). If he needs another person waiting before he leaves the current person, well he gets everything he’s asking for.

It’s a rhetorical question, Bernice.

So another Summer in VAST Luanniverse bites the dust.

Many Colleges, at least in the real World, will be receiving freshmen next week. Sophomores, Junior and Senior college students will be going back in a week or two.

Summer’s just about over in “Luann-Land.” But did anybody besides Kip have any fun?

I mean kudos to Luann, for finally having enough guts to finally head down to the pool. Perhaps Tiffany will follow after agonizing over it for three solid weeks.

Luann’s got the right idea; also, we have to realize that they’ve been on that bed for maybe all of 10-15 mins. I’m guessing that Luann may get that eye contact from Kip that Tiff referred to.

Tiffany, if you really want a boy to pay attention to you, try inviting Ox or Les over. They’re single and they love you.

Bernice is going to die a lonely spinster.

Bernice serves a real purpose in the strip. While Luann tends to be whimsical, overly sensitive and naive, Bernice is grounded, brusk and cynical. That’s why they are BFFs. They complement each other.

Although recently both have been showing signs of adopting some of the other’s characteristics… in spades!

Bern’s (Karen’s) comment about Tiff’s fragile ego is RIGHT ON! She’s been plagued since college with a lack of steady male attention as she received before. She’s had money issues with a downturn in papa’s fortunes. She’s been crushed by Ann Eiffel. Business failures. Manse broken into… etc… and so forth. So give Bernice her due.

Oh wow, Luann gets to be the voice of reason today! :-)

Wow, Bernice, you’re going to be busy compiling that spreadsheet for a LOOOOONG time!!! Better skip the pool festivities, fire up that computer, and get started NOW!

Psychoanalyze yourself, Bernice, you’d be floored by the ways you indulge your ego with the Muse routine and how nasty it makes your behavior look to an outside observer. Remember how you didn’t care about Piro’s letter or Piro in general until he publicly described you as a kind, heavenly light? Then you swanned in like a savior to take credit like an all-loving muse, to a dude you were eager to ghost before.

I dunno, it just takes a lot of nerve to see smug Bernice call another young woman hungry for male attention and shaming her for wanting to boost her ego after Bernice has been doing that in every storyline she’s had in recent memory.

Y’know, in real life people who study the field of psychology/psychotherapy/etc are told not to start analyzing people before they’re fully trained. I REALLY wish Bernice would listen to that little tidbit. (Granted most of the psych students I have met didn’t listen either, so she’s still a realistic representation. But that doesn’t make her any less annoying in my book.)

Does Tiffany actually want Bernice’s obnoxious opinion? Why would Tiff ask her that question in the last panel?

Every time I see Tiffany’s smirk (as in the first panel today), the helmet hair and the bloat, I think of Mouse Finbar’s line in Jumanji, (Welcome to the Jungle), " I hate to tell you honey, but you ain’t got the tools."

People get all hated up on Bernice. Seriously, that is displaced, she’s drawn to make readers feel that way. I think the interplay between her and Tiffany is hilarious; the only real question is does it shift until another week, or are we about to embark on a new summer adventure?
