With Baba tucked away in the barn, hopefully with all the kits, I suddenly began thinking of the barn as Burt’s Barn of Solitude. He is pretty super ya know.
Hands up everyone who expected that last panel. Wait, too many hands to count. Okay. Hands up anyone who didn’t expect that last panel. Anyone? Bueller?
I love the enhanced body armor—buzz saw blades, steamer baskets, and I’m not quite sure what those spikes on Gutter’s shoulders were…a discarded router, maybe? And I see Old Mags has added Great Boot’s headphones to her crown!
Beatrix is going to be in the middle of it again, chasing after the Princess who is captured and in danger. Grand Moff Montague and Darth Wicket will be waiting.
Queen Mag is locked and loaded. (Burt makes a very good Q with all the snazzy & fabulous gadgets he comes up with. James Bond probably stops in at the Barn every time he’s in the neighborhood.) I’d love it if Princess Mag ran straight into Baba Mouse right about now.
I’m increasingly confused by this arc. Is the moles’ attack imminent? Have the raccoons and the cats (& sundry other animals) created some sort of coordinated defense plan?
OK, wannabelibrarian here: in the center panel that is Gutter on the left (with eyepatch) Chitter and Chatter on either side of Queen Mag. But who is on the right in front, and is who is on the right behind with what looks like are spines. At first I thought it was Thimblefist with its can, but it is clearly a Racoon. help!
Hi everyone…Well for the second time this month I wanted to touch base with all of you… you were so kind with notes after our Gladdie passed a few weeks ago, and last night, after a short illness our little princess, Middie, passed over the ’ Rainbow Bridge’… I am just heart broken…she was as sweet as sweet could be and had been my sleeping partner for years… A little black cat with a huge purr who absolutely liked everyone…from people to other and even got along with the outside raccoons through our screen door
I know losing a pet is part of the fate of those who love all animals… but the last few weeks have been so hard….Middie was one of multiple litters we rescued around our home in the last few years… During that time we rescued 34 cats and kittens…had all of them fixed, got them all their first set of shots and tested and gave ‘money back guarantees’ to those we placed in forever homes… We were able to place 29 of the 34 moms and kittens…( only one adult male) In our home we have seven now…and four outside girls who were to feral to find inside homes .. Our outdoor kitties rarely can be touched, but they give us so much enjoyment too….all of them have their own heated ‘kitty houses’ in the winter and everyone indoor or out gets two healthy meals a day…and treats and toys.
Middie was the kitty who got along with everyone… inside and out…and often talked and chirped when she saw something different… She was the first to remind me it was dinner time…or breakfast time…or treat time…but she always let her younger siblings eat first…. She had the most gorgeous green eyes, perfect black coat…and I truly will miss her so much. I hope someday when it’s my turn to cross the ‘Rainbow Bridge’ Middie, Gladdie, Knew, Yoda, Pirate, T-2, Gracie, Emily, Ester, and the rest of my furry family in heaven will come to find me … God Bless you all…. Thanks for letting me vent…Hug your kitties for me…k
For crying out loud, get on with it already. Story lines on “Professional Wrestling” don’t last this long. Let’s have some blood, some carnage and then get back to the normal, what ever normal is in the BCN world.
Right on cue, the rebellious princess declares her intent to interfere! She will, of course, be captured no matter how competent she appears, because once the villain grabs her by the Standard Female Grab Area- the upper arm (or upper foreleg in this case, I suppose)- she becomes completely helpless!
Did we ever figure out for sure what the purple disk (panel 3) was when we saw it last (August 26, 2023)? Also, I can’t remember if we figured out exactly what Queen Mag’s Crown was (besides the headphones, those I recognize). Having trouble figuring out what comprises much of the armor (see Dorsey Belle’s comment above for some info). Is Mag’s front piece a metal pie plate of some kind. Is the raccoon on the left in the 2nd panel (can’t remember his name) standing on a skateboard??? (Cool, if it is!). Let’s play a little game of list everything you can see in all the panels! I see a steamer basket, vacuum, headphones, saw blade, skateboard, BBQ fork, old time TV antennae, bowling ball (round red thing in panel 3). Anyone else?
I’m late to the party today, so i am shocked to be the 1st (i think i read every comment) to ask if Montaque BELIEVED Puck. He only said,“I saw’”, which could have meant, yeah, i expected the cats to help with a ruse. Or something like that. Doesn’t he know the cats are friendly with the racoons??
In my head, I’m hearing O Fortuna/Carmina Burana, the song playing in “Excalibur” as King Arthur and his knights ride through the countryside to the final battle.

Remember, in order for Great Boot’s vacuum to work, you will need his chariot!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Very Good Library
Puckmosis: Bea, this is Monet Chagall from Away, the other side of Afar. She’s here to research the Battle Lost in Futurity.
Beatrixia: Pleased to meet you, Ms Chagall.
Mo: The pleasure is mine. Call me Mo.
Bea: And I’m Bea. I think I have some scrolls that will help.
Sometime Later
Mo: This is a great start. Here’s a scroll from the memoirs of Jules, the time-traveling July bug.
Bea: And here’s a scroll from Natasha, Tash’s descendant, Things We’ll Never Tell.
Mo: How do you happen to have these scrolls if they haven’t happened yet?
Bea: Oh, the Royal Procurers have their ways.
Mo: What is that pile of papyrus over there?
Bea: Those are to be recycled. The shredder should be here any minute.
Shredder: It’s Little O, You Know!

Just take that old head gear off the shelf
I’ll go and join the conflict by myself
Today’s problems ain’t just moles in some holes
I like those old time peaceful roles
Don’t try to make me avoid the war
Grandmag needs me and not helping, I abhor
In ten minutes I’ll be joining the corps
Enrolled in that good cause mole patrol

Vangelis: Theme from Chariots of Fire
The storm clouds now gather
The fight has begun
There will be no rest till
The battle is won!
The raccoons are ready
Their friends join the fray
Puck’s speech has been given
The end of the day!
The vacuum is ready to deploy
The chariot awaits
The battle against the owls and moles
Is now part of fate!
The cats do their part for victory
The young ones are there
But Princess Magazine,
Can’t wait, as Bea is aware!
The storm clouds now gather
The fight has begun
The fight to the finish
Till all has been Dunn!
