I was once told the best commercial photos/paintings were often of the moment right before something fantastic happened; like showing Gibson at the plate right before he hit the unbelievable game-winning homer in ‘88 (which is so earthshattering it’s got its own Wikipedia article!!! ) . Looks like a fundraiser painting and calendar/book cover to me..

I haven’t seen any opossums the past few nights since it got cold, but on Christmas when it was warmer we had a record five at one time! I also got to witness one building a nest. One had collected a bundle of oak leaves and wrapped them with (her?) tail. I didn’t know opossums could use their prehensile tails to carry stuff!

Our local raccoon family received three kongs stuffed with peanut butter as Christmas presents. In the morning, one was in the kiddie pool, one under the neighbor’s deck, and one not to be found, so it seems they were a hit.

Tillie: This year my friends and I created a special multicolored ball with loads of yarn from where we know not.

Tabs: I think I know who helped you. What do you do with the yarn after New Year is over?

Tillie: This year we’re going to knit scarves for Time Lords.

Tabs: A most worthwhile endeavor. Thomios is here with the menu for the New Year Banquet. Thomios, what are you planning?

Thomios: We have the traditional Ham and More Ham with Bacon, Perfect Perch for the fish course, assorted pastries and Chocolate Everything for dessert. I have tea and scones to tide us over until dinner. Want some?

As someone who grew up playing fighting games in the arcade, I can only imagine that Thimblefist is about to shout “SHORYUKEN!”.

The amazing thing about that painting is how, yes, it’s obviously a Georgia Dunn painting, and yet parts of the style are so different from the usual BCN. The sky is scarier. And both the chipmunk and the mice seem more real-world. And look how BIG those mice are!

OT: A Decision for the New Year

I’ve always wanted to travel, and this year I signed up to take a trip with Road Scholar to the UK in September. Looking forward to it.

Then I got the catalog from my local travel agency to spend a long weekend over Thanksgiving in Iceland.

So my decision is: England or Iceland?
