Finally, after two long, tedious weeks, one of them finally meets a guy. Pity it’s Bernice and not Luann.

Playing basketball in glasses is hard, even if you have a cool pi jersey.

Pi only to two decimal places. That’s not going to be good enough for Bernice.

Bernice, who didn’t even WANT to go the food truck and who’s dressed like she’s about to weed the flower bed, BEATS Luann’s time.

PLUS she snarked Luann to the guy to boot.

It’s okay with me if Bernice is the one to meet a guy. It looks like he has some friends to introduce Luann to, and this strip might get interesting.

Aside from all the food they packed out to the park they hardly needed to buy chicken from the cluck wagon, but I noticed on late examination that Luann is eating it all wrong. A drumstick, such as she’s holding, is a large leg bone which comes with a thick joint at either end, So you don’t stick the top portion into your mouth because that all bone. You eat it from the side, like you would with an ear of corn. Has Greg never eating a drumstick before?

Hey! I guessed a “plot line” and said a loose basketball would happen. Yay, me for once.

He must be a math major. Go figure.

Great, Bernice had the pleasure of having her magic moment narrated by her BFF. The boy looks cute and kind, let’s see if this will be the first step to have a picnic with the rest of the basketball team or if they will only talk to him. I hope that it’s not only Bernice who gets attention, but also Luann can have the opportunity to make new friends and have a nice chat with them.

Weird. Just like this whole comic arc.

Is that a reference to John 3:14? Probably not.But, jsut in case.

With his jersey number it looks like he will become her sweetie Pi.

Hmm, so the guy is wearing a pi shirt and appears to be about Bern’s age. There is a good chance that he goes to Mooney and knows Gunther as he is probably an engineering major like the G-Man or is a math/physics major and takes physics, calculus and differential equation courses with Gunnie.

So, do we flash forward a bit in the comic (sometime this Fall) and see a double date with “Pi”, Bern, Bets and the G-Man while Bernice stays at home and looks after Shannon? That plot sounds like it would be Karen’s speed as she is always depicting Luann in a negative light……

Juvenile. Two twelve year old, pre-high school, unattractive, weirdly dressed little girls waiting for someone to rescue them from this awful story line.

Bernice is not a very good friend. Her comments about and to Luann are always negative. She seems annoyed and embarrassed to be with Luann.

When I was a teen and a couple of boys wanted to get my attention while I obliviously read my book, one of them said “watch this” threw the basketball at me and then struck up a conversation. We dated a bit he wasn’t for me.

Bernice has a lot of nerve calling other people weird. When it comes to weird she’s the queen. Then again, how does that saying go? It takes one to know one…….:D

I am glad for Bernice! I can see why the fellow would have an attraction to Bernice. He seems to potentially be a bit “nerdy” with his 3.14 shirt and his glasses. I have to admit I would would/was attracted to “Bernice-esque” girls when I was his age and I (sheepishly) admit I am also a little bit “nerdy” (if you had not already surmised that long ago).

I can see why various fellows would be attracted to Luann too, of course, but at least at the moment, Bernice is getting the attention, and I am happy for her.

One thing though…. the 3.14 guy has a bit of a YOUNGER look to him. That is not too uncommon for “nerdy” fellows, so he COULD be college age like Bernice and Luann. But… what if he actually is younger, and is a high school kid? I am hoping not, but who knows.

Luann’s spending too much time analyzing the situation of the male connection and not realizing the male connector when it presents itself. Though we have to remember that she already has two or so guys who thing she’s great.

Always be aware of your surroundings! 3.14 looks like a match for Bernice.

The silhouettes of the guys playing basketball were p-perfect as to attitudes and stance; were they (in effect) tracings from actual photographs? That kind of, um, anatomical accuracy would be hard to get, free-hand.
