Nancy was probably hoping Luann would help her with the puzzle. Half the fun is working together and chatting etc.

I never found jigsaw puzzles all that relaxing. And the larger they are they more stress they become. If I want to relax I’ll read a book.

Unlike some readers, I don’t really mind when an arc doesn’t have Luann in it, because it seems all G&K can do is make her look bad.

Now we’ll probably have Bernice, (Nancy’s favorite daughter) come in, decide to help with the puzzle, and she and Nancy will have a great time laughing and chatting and bonding even more.

Look at the bright side. The annoying gift looks shredded and already for the trash can, even before Puddles finds a couple of pieces to chew on.

Nancy’s tired of schlepping for thirty-nine year and is moving to the IceCube Research Station.

When I was first married, we bought a 4,000 piece puzzle to work on. We had to put a 4X8 sheet of plywood on the dining room table to accommodate the size. After a while, we started to have friends over for puzzle-making parties. Took a month or so to get it 3/4 finished, then we gave up and put it back in the box.

Get your own dinner. And do your own laundry.

Puzzles like that are not really meant to be done at one sitting. Luann certainly made it seem like a task.

Luann can’t do laundry or prepare dinner? But plenty of time to sit in her bedroom and ponder the universe Clueless Luann.

She’s doing that puzzle on that tiny coffee table? She’s going to need a bigger space.

I usually have a puzzle going all the time. I limit myself to 1000 pc puzzles, they fit well on my board. I mounted a puzzle board to an art desk and have it tilted to about 30 degrees. It’ll take me a week to do one because I usually don’t work on it for longer than 15-20 minutes at a time.

Take a hint, Luann, and do a load of laundry and make dinner.

After watching Nancy go under a fan last week, I think this arc will be about time passing and the changes in her body. I think Luann is right to let her do this jigsaw alone, but I don’t think Nancy will be alone for long. If it goes well Frank will show up, if it goes bad, Bernice will be the one and even if she and Nancy get along, I fear the aspiring psychologist might come up with some annoying questions.

Why don’t you step up and fix dinner and/or do the laundry, Luann?

That 1500 pieces doesn’t include the crucial missing piece.

Nancy is sweet but she could try to see it as an opportunity for a break from her chores. Luann could’ve offered to help with said chores.

Not sure how Luann ruined the gift. She made a few comment. Nancy can take as long as she wants to do the puzzle and I doubt if she worries about Luann going without food and clean clothes.

Puddles is ossum. If it weren’t for Roscoe (“Pickles” strip) – he’d be top of the ‘kewl comics dogz’ list!

Personally, I would never be interested in sitting for hours doing a jigsaw puzzle, but Nancy needs to realize she has just been given a great method for making Luann take care of her own needs…FOR ONCE IN HER LIFE. Granted, Nancy is the enabler of her daughter’s selfish, immature behavior, but for right now, all she has to do is say “I’m still working on my puzzle, you did say you wouldn’t bother me about the household stuff”.

Great Sunday strip! Oh, waitaminute…Actually, Sunday ’s actual strip seemed like the beginning of a new arc and I was looking forward to it.

I’m getting irritated by this Failure to Launch Luann, which is a shame because I really like her character. But she doesn’t seem to have much of a life, or at least one we get to see.

My spouse got nostalgic about puzzling during the holidays in his youth, so we got one just after the New Year. My, oh my, is it ever addictive! After trying a 2000 piecer, we settled on on 1000 piece puzzles. There is ALWAYS one in progress now. It is something fun to do together, and surprisingly relaxing (perhaps because it requires so much focus?). The funniest thing is that just about every one of my friends (decades long friendships!) is a “closet” puzzler! I had no idea! We all get a laugh out of that.

Why does this feel more like a Sunday strip than part of a daily story arc?

Or Luann you could do dinner and the laundry.

And after you complete the jigsaw puzzles – donate them to senior centers – they get lots of use there.
