Ox did smash down the front door. There was no keypad ad it wasn’t left open.
Since the house is in good shape, the odds that there was a burglar there are super slim. And of course, they’re NOT going to say what caused the broken window. =(
The best news is that Tiff didn’t break any bones and will probably be fine.
Looks like Les has lost his marbles and is talking to himself. lol
Not only shouldn’t Ox have to pay for the door… I think thank you dinner maybe in order??
Ox continues to be his loving and lovable self. Les’ insecurities continue to make him seem shallow and uncaring.Tiff continues her wounded yet forgiving nature and the cops are a day late and a dollar short.
On to the hospital where Tiff will meet a young and handsome doctor who will fall madly in love with her… or Elwood Druit… take your choice.
Awww, Ox IS the hero!! Hoping Tiff will be more attentive to him now. But a busted down door … who will secure the premises with that breached? All the while Les is still on the sideline extolling his perceived heroics.
I still think that window was broken by someone..or something…other than a burglar; stay tuned for everyone “wiping egg off their faces” and going “well, it could’a been a burgular”. Down side, one traumatized Tiffany, one “traumatized door” one “traumatized window” and one guilt ridden Ox. Upside? Les is exposed as an idiot, Ox doesn’t have to pay for the door, and MAYBE Tiff comes to appreciate Ox as something more than a doormat to use when the soles of her (very expensive, I’m sure) shoes need wiping.
Les: “When I picked up Tiffany, I severely wrenched my back! Owwwww! Groannn!”
Fourth panel: They are taking Tiff back out of the ambulance and setting her out on the sidewalk, while they are strapping Les in and hauling HIM off to the hospital. Poor thing…
Well, young lady cop seems impressed with Ox, as she lays a hand on his shoulder. Ox could make a promising police recruit and I’m sure the police lady would love to give him her personal tour.
Aw. Tiffany is fine with Ox breaking her door. She doesn’t care. Les and his monologue. 6^6. Best of all…two lady cops AND a lady paramedic. Thank you, Greg.
Good to know Tiffany is ok. Ox is really worried about her and Les is still panicking. Impressive to know Ox destroyed the front door, he’s the best♡. I wonder if something got stolen and what. Blonde cop seems to be a portrait, I wonder if she’s a friend or a relative of Greg and Karen.
The police officer’s description of Ox as a “gallant friend” for busting down the door reminded me of another series of comics that I’ve not thought of in some 60 years, called “Goofus and Gallant”. These were the names of its two main characters, and they were used educationally and moralistically to illustrate alternative approaches to various problems and moral dilemmas. Oddly, the behavior of Les and Ox is surprisingly reminiscent of these almost-forgotten characters.
Pretty hard to diagnose a fracture at this point. I have a tibial plateau fracture last year and it was not diagnose how at the time, seemed like ligaments. And the ER xrayed, said no fracture. It took MRI to get a diagnosis. Don’t expect Tiffany’s situation to evolve like that, but that EMT shouldn’t be saying that nothing is broken.
Les is lost in some sort of tangent. Looks like his apron is advertising “eat more chickin’”. Guess it’s time to end this episode, but GnK omitted a lot of one step leading to another. Meanwhile, back at the Fuse.
This is interesting on several levels. First all the emergency personnel are female, very competent and reassuring. Second, in of course Les is acting like a faux professional; I wonder if this is a subtle relationship memory of his long dead dad, who was a cop, a “military” policeman? It’s murky but there is a lot more to his history can be revealed. Finally, OX is of course a humble hero, which Tiffany recognizes by clearly telling him there is no way he will pay for damage to busting her door down. How gallant. But it’s still early so misdirection plays are still possible, but the story is told, up to now.
Well, so far everyone involved seems to be where they’re supposed to be. Tiff is being taken care of medically, Les is off babbling by himself and not being paid attention to, and Ox still probably wants to pay for the busted door. And as for the “burgler”, I still think it’s an errant baseball or softball or something of that nature. Taking things one step at a time, I think the next immediate move is notifying Tiff’s dad.
Is Tiff saying to OX, that she isn’t going to make him pay for the door? While I’m sure Tom’s household insurance would cover it, why do I have the feeling Tif really wouldn’t mind if her “step brother” had to pay.
Well, here’s the setup so far: Ox, once again, shows feelings for Tiffany. Somewhat surprisingly, Les also shows his concern for Tiff. He has been the male character most associated with Tiff since the Ann Eiffel unpleasantness. Tiff is off to L’hôpital where she encounters her next arc.
Will it be a new romantic character? A character that sets Tiff on a new life path? Will the Quad characters make an appearance? Will Bets splash her pics on her vlog? Will Daddy Bigbucks show up? Quo Vadis,Greg?
The broken window/burglary will turn out to be a MacGuffin.
What are the chances for a Tiffany & Ox romance? He’s kind and caring, and even better take a bit of the edge off Tiff’s personality. Could be a long and sweet storyline…..
First, Stef makes a big deal about “pairing” Ox with Tiffany a few months back. No doubt to get Ox away from his budding friendship with Stef’s “boy-toy,” Kip
Next, over at Luannfan.com, Ox’s bio features the comment that he “Adores Tiffany,” something that has never been offically alluded to.
Now, We have proof that Oxford will do anything for Tiffany, up to and including demolishing private property.
Will this be the beginning of a Beautiful Friendship? It should be. But I don’t think it’s going to be that “easy.” Tiffany is not going to make it that “easy.”This ain’t gonna be Tiffany pulling a “Bets,” with Tiff deciding that and Ox are now a “thing.”
Nah. I fear that Ox is gonna be in the same boat Brad was, going thru Hell when courting Toni, even to the point of darn near dying saving her life.
So find a comfortable chair, and grab a cup of COFFEE.
Poor Les, his nerves are shot. It’s all been too much and he’s losing his mind. He needs to rehearse and get his story “just right” because this may be his only chance to get some personal props for a long time. Actually, he shows signs of having a low self-opinion problem. Probably why he puts on the bravado act (and volunteered to take the most menial job at the restaurant). Tomorrow we’ll see him telling Punk all about it because no one ever listens to him.
These have been the most detailed drawings in a long time! Nice.At this point, Les is just cracking me up. So desperate to be a hero.Glad Tiffany is ok and alert. Hopefully she regards Ox differently and doesn’t take him for granted, but that may be short lived. I imagine Les will continue to brag at the Fuse.
When is Les going to realize 6 chin hairs are impressive when a boy is 14 but not when he is 19. It certainly has been a busy day for Tiffany -mystery of missing ring, moving out of the dorm, almost breaking her neck.
Let’s see, a broken upstairs window with a whole too small for a human to get in. I’m guessing one of the neighborhood kids lost a baseball and if you check Tiffany’s house close enough you’ll find it.
I read the comments this AM early. Just crossed my mind that Tiff may feel compelled to hook up with Ox, the guy who rescued her. Mrs. Ox has a ring to it, doesn’t it? Wonder what his last name is anyway? Kinda reminds me of a cartoon that ran in Playboy back in the 60s. Dashing Knight, looking completely worn out and exhausted standing in front of the gigantic dragon he has just killed with his lance. He is gazing at the beautiful damsel he has just saved from this awful creature, and her reply to the entire affair? I guess you expect me to come across and put out now, don’t you?
A purely medical observation: Tiffany will have no memory of falling. Impressions are held in short-term memory for a second or two before (if ever) being integrated into long-term cognitive structures. Being knocked unconscious pretty much guarantees that whatever was in s ST Memory will be lost..
Les is busy narrating his noir cop fantasy, Ox is still worried about Tiff, and someone should secure the house right away so an actual burglar doesn’t show up and waltz right in. Wonder if this incident will finally bring Tiff’s dad back from wherever the hell he’s working these days.
The police have sized it up and have Les’s number (self possessed nut job) and know that OX is the real hero here… Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it seems like Tiff is not seriously injured as was the main thought…
Okay, I will admit I am a little disappointed that Les didn’t get to show-off any lock-picking techniques. But that is probably for the best. The police would’ve been interested in that, and he would’ve been continuing his lecture at the station.
