Because it’s easier to gather your thoughts when you’re not playing verbal ping pong with someone, risking your relationship on not saying the wrong thing.
Bets stops to think about it for a minute an moves the picture of Kippy up next to her bunk. Then she clicks her heels together an suddenly she’s not in Gunterville anymore /S
Bets needs to be true to herself. I remember on an episode of The Waltons when grandpa told his wife the grandma that she is not to pretend to be sweet. She is pepper!!! She is salt! She is the family’s spice. Bets needs to balance her life’s relationships.
Me: “Aren’t” is used for the second person (you aren’t). The first person form is amn’t (seriously. Look it up if you don’t believe me.) The M is silent, so it’s pronounced like ant, which is the origin of the word ain’t. If you don’t want to use the word “amn’t”, perhaps because you’re afraid nobody will understand you, it would, strictly speaking, be grammatically correct to say “Why ain’t I telling you this in person”, but that’s not considered good English, except maybe in the southern states. Well… it’s not considered good American, except in the south. It’s not considered good English anywhere.
But that doesn’t really “bother” Me as much as the fact that after Bets left Gunther by the roadside last year, she didn’t communicate with him for months until she returned.
Gunny would do well to continue to stick to his studies and perhaps consider other opportunities in the “romance department.”
Bets, while a good friend, and (IMO) an interesting character just has way too many hang ups, For NOW, unless……,
(Bets. Repeat to yourself: _ Business Opportunity with Tiffany._)
Sure writing is a way to organize your thoughts and remember more details as you are not pressed in conversation, so just continue to write and then suggest a in person conversation.
It’s nice to see Bets so determined to change and wanting to have a life full of quality with Gunther. But it seems like she’s going too far in the other way. It’s not wrong to write a text or talk on the phone and it’s exaggerated to only ever want to talk to someone in person. It will still take her a long time to find a balance and I continue to hope that she and Tiffany will find a project to develop together. Meanwhile, I’m surprised at how bare that room is. I expected a lot more pictures of Kip around Stef’s bed, posters, cheerleader uniforms and some superheroes and anime related stuff from Bets.
According to the web, “You can describe someone as a zombie if their face or behavior shows no feeling, understanding, or interest in what is going on around them.”
Similarly, the web defines glum, “looking or feeling dejected; morose.”
Appears that a “glum zombie” is an incompatible combination.
and….although reconnecting with you would be really nice Gunther, I don’t feel that a serious relationship is what’s best for me at this time. I need to quit dating for awhile, concentrate on school, and re-evaluate my goals and priorities. It’s been great and we will always be friends. Bets
Why .. she asks! Well, this week alone we’ve found that she’s devoid of any of the right stuff and completely filled with the wrong and she won’t get off of her whiny butt to live a real life. And, as she’s always been portrayed, she’s a self centered, controlling attention freak who’s shown that her life’s mantra is “It’s all about … MEEEEEE!!!” Maybe we’ll get back to Luann, the family, the cafe … etc. next week.
looks like Bets got the little kick in the butt from Dez which she needed in order to move forward in life (w/o the constant posting on instagram etc). I look forward to seeing her engaged in real life activities.
I’ve said it before, Bets & Gun could make an awesome cosplay prop store as a start up business. The trick that Bets & Gun need to realize is how to take their passions, and express them in a healthy way that fulfills a vital human need.
Doing the cosplay prop shop, making products for others to enjoy the cosplay lifestyle, is one of those options, “Van Life” is incredibly taxing on the human mind and body, despite how cost effective it is.
But I’m also wondering why doesn’t Gun find a gig that pays enough to afford his own place, pull “An Officer and a Gentleman”, and simply tell his folks “Bets and I are moving out to our own place, doing our own thing!”?
It’s tough, but stepping up and being a man is hard. Otherwise, everyone could do it.
