In our area there’s an old saying: “If you have no zucchini you have no friends."I tried a compact zucchini this year: “Space Miser". The fruits were as thick as my thumb and about 5” long. Chopped up well into carrot sized rounds so great for stir fries/tomato dishes. The overgrown ones were thick as your fist and still short as your hand. Saves a lot of zucchini angst.
Spouse steamed some zucchini last night: Sliced into 5mm rounds, tossed with some rosemary and thyme and steamed in a basket for several minutes. Served w/ a bit of butter.

Not bad, but not knock-you-down delicious either. I prefer stir-fried w\ onion and some spιces.
Mom used to make zucchini bread… it was the only way she could get us kids to ingest the stuff we considered as loathsome and “ucky.” Apparently some tastes change when you get older… love the stuff now.
I’m astonished how lazy that man is, sitting in his easy chair with his TV table, turning down offered food. Wait until Opal’s no longer around, Earl; you’ll be one of the helpless ones.
One year my mom planted ten zucchini plants. That was the year she tried to feed me zucchini bread covered with zucchini butter and zucchini jelly. Also that year my job was to sneak around the neighborhood about dusk and leave grocery bags of zucchini on porches.

It’s obvious, you should make pickles out of them. If they still persist, graduate to courgette quiche, then zucchini pie.

Zucchini doesn’t have enough flavor to love or hate. But it does go well with a lot of different recipes.

In college there was a guy in our dorm who had an Italian sounding name. Everyone just called him “Zucchini”

Much as I like zucchini, I don’t think I like it THAT much! Good thing my wife, the gardener, doesn’t grow any. She barely tolerates it!

Why do people plant so much zucchini in the first place, if it’s always so prolific ? How about donating it to the local food pantry.
