Well, Luann does look dejected. Rejected. Luann, you need to move on and meet new people. Bernice has outgrown you. Gunther has a new girlfriend. Pru is in New York. Tiff is your nemesis. Dez was a former roommate of Bernice. Tara is in Utah and was sort of too wild for you. Jack sees you at the dog park occasionally. Nil is Jack’s friend and now Bernice’s love interest. You see? You are lost at the sea, unanchored, moving further and further away from them. Time to drop the anchor swim toward something. It seems your job at Kids First is not doing much for you. How about finding a new job? Or exploring what career you might want and set a real goal?

Well, that was 27 milliseconds after Luann shoved off. As far as Bernie goes, the floodgates have broken down, the genie is out of the bottle, and whatever else one can think of. She has had a taste of passion and won’t go back. Just wait ’till that “special night” happens… It will be the shot heard around the nerd world.

Nobody has speculated yet (as of the time I started writing this comment) about what Puddles may be getting up to out of our view during panel 2. I’ll go out on a limb and guess that whatever it is will play a role in next week’s story.

But what is it? Guesses, Luannalyzers?

Nil is still creepy with that mask of hair. He could be the Phantom of the Opera under there, or someone in hiding on the witness protection program.

I’m sure glad I went through college when I did. I had 4 different majors until I finished a Master’s Degree and went on to work 3 places in PA and 5 different places in Florida (I’m now retired, almost 72). I guess, given my changes in majors, I would be regarded as a total mess by today’s standards if the posters here are any indication…

Well kinda what I thought. Luann and Puddles provide situational context to what is happening to other characters, and it’s clear Bernice has a hot new love interest. I always point out that nerds have a cauldron going on underneath all that nerdiness. I don’t think this arc will continue Monday which means I join some others in that I’d like to see a hilariously positive development for Lu herself. When you think about love matches have been established for Gun(ther) and Bets, Bern and Nil (Tiffany isn’t interested in anyone on stage in the comic) so what about Luann?

Resume what you were doing…as long as Luann doesn’t turn around!

I’m more and more convinced that Bernice don’t deserve a friend like Luann. Instead of being offended by all the lies and rudeness, Luann looks happy for Bernice and Nil and smiles at them as she leaves. It’s a sad smile, but it’s still a smile! On the other hand, it’s nice to see Nil and Bernice so in love and passionate ♡. Luann and Bernice may need to talk later, but now Luann needs to seriously find an obedience training for her and Puddles. Jack might be the answer

My prediction: Puddles gets hit by car, Jack rescues him, Luann and Bernice gush over Jack, Nil says to himself, “What am I, sliced chicken?”. In any case, at least another week of this arc.

I’m confused. Why are they hiding the fact that they are dating? Is one of them married? Why would they need to hide anything, but then kiss in public? Is Luann the only person they are hiding it from? Very confusing.

Most people do NOT want to see anyone showing this much PDA. A quick hug and kiss in public is okay, but if you need to make out like this, find someplace more private.

So Nil and Bernice are an item, and Gunther and Bets are an item. When will Tiffany look beyond herself and find someone? When will we see Luann at work or college again?

A relatively new experience for the two of them, one would surmise.

Nil and Bernice are meant for each other because they are the dullest characters in this comic strip!

I realize why Bernice is the way she is. She learned it from her parents. Bernice has been staying with the DeGroots for months for free and the Halpers don’t seem to mind freeloading off of other people. Are the Halpers that destitute that they can’t pay a little for Bernice’s food at least? The Halpers are selfish people who don’t consider others.

I dunno…this is Saturday. I’m not so sure this particular arc will go much of anywhere. It looks more like a filler to me. Making out in the park is rather bad form (or at least, it used to be in my day), but maybe that’s a “thing” now? I mean, where’s this going to go? This is a family strip. Or at least, I thought it was. With everybody getting the hots for everybody else, I’m not so sure anymore.

In any case, Luann needs to get a life herself. Maybe a week of serious soul-searching on her part? Nah. GnK don’t ever get that deep.

BTW, where’s Mordy in all this? Haven’t seen him for days.

The one thing that bothers me is how sex crazy they are making Bernice. They did it when she was dating Zane too, always jumping on his lap for kisses. She is portrayed as quite the petting, smooching maniac. My! Such raw emotional urges coming from such a prim, upstanding, well-educated young lady! What’s a person to think? I’m surprised she hasn’t had lots of boys asking her out, but maybe her sexy secret is still safe…safe until Luann runs into someone they both know! HA!

Personally, if I were her, I would be highly suspicious of a boy who wears a jacket and beanie in the summer.

The way those two are going at each other, they’re going to be humping in the bushes by Monday! You’d think they would at least have brought a blanket – sheesh! Amazing how fast Bern forgot about her lust for Jack. If she was more likable, I’d like her relationship with Nil. But I’d rather see Luann happy. It doesn’t even have to be with a boyfriend to be happy – G&K just give Luann more than a life with Puddles.

Even puddles is telling Luann “leave those two alone. lets go play” But Luann is so bored and lonely, she wants to watch others make out.

Dang; Bernice went from “I’m a filthy temptress!” to making out in a public park relatively quick. But good for her, she’s finally letting herself have some fun.
