This is absolutely the most boring arc in the history of the strip. It almost makes me miss Ann Eifel.

My first thought was, “Oh, puke.” And I’m really not like that. I really don’t even care where in the world this story arc is going.

No place better for schoolwork that writing on a box of onions, I say. I used a rutabaga box when I was growing up, but I suspect onions are pretty good too.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse I was fooled. It could and it did.

I dislike this horrible, messy, grinning, chaotic family so much…and this strip is probably supposed to be propagandizing in favor of anything-goes parenting.

So, this week has finally ended! I wonder what dribble they will have next week! (Anxiously waits for the grammar Nazis to correct my mistake)

I fear this BS will continue into next week. And I always believed God was loving and merciful! It’s no wonder that so many people are becoming agnostics!

What drivel, even The Family Circus is “more better”. H3ll, even Dennis the Menace is, and that comic is nowhere near as funny as it once was.

This is such a strange arc. I get that the artists wanted to take a break, but to show that Brad and Toni have NO realistic expectations about being parents is actually pretty damaging to their characters. Both of them seem completely delusional. Meanwhile, Shannon is running riot and they haven’t discussed Jonah leaving her with them for a month.

Yeah, with due respect to the artist and his efforts, this isn’t Luann. Are the Evans on vacation? That’s certainly a good thing. Enjoy yourselves, but hurry back, lol.

Too cute! I wouldn’t mind if Jay Fosgitt and Karen Evans started a “Luann” spinoff strip about Toni, Brad and kids. Maybe, in the future…

Bad enough that Luann, like most comics, follows the old “joke for the week” format, but this one is just ultra-tedious. It was cute the first time, but just boring now. It’s become embarrassing and a bit sad.

It couldn’t have been any better if G&K’s next arc had Gunther announcing he was going “Save America” by running for President of the United States, and ended up actually WINNING!

When is this going to end — when readers register enough complaints about how bad it is?

I’m not caring for this either.

Even I, who rarely leaves a comment, is taking the time to beg that this stops. Who ever thought a “perfect” Shannon would be so much more annoying than bratty Shannon?

This is worse than Ozzie and Harriet and Leave it to Beaver combined.

These story lines have been awful. Nothing at all like the real B&T. It’s like a bad dream and I keep hoping I’ll wake up to the real Luann strip. Nothing against the art itself, but did you really have to go this off-course?

Their smiles are so big its making my cheeks hurt! It’s certainly interesting to see a different artist’s interpretation of the characters. With an imaginary story line like this, they can go all out on it.

I was hoping last week was end of this nonsense.

HEY…. what Brad did just now (in his fantasy) shows that can really be a good Dad. You can ask a kid (or anyone for that matter) time and time again to do their homework but sometimes it’s about creating the right environment for study… with feng shui. Now Shannon is excited to work because the feng shui is right for her; Brad had the sense of that.

I’ve had enough of this arc. Time to move on.

The arc as a dream sequence of Brad (or more likely, Toni) trying to delude themselves into an idea that they’d raise a super-responsible kid that could do no wrong, just to have that shattered as the dream spirals into a nightmare is amusing in concept.

That being said, enough!

What we really need is Toni and Brad realizing kids will always be messy, that the chaos isn’t avoidable or a reason to reject having kids. Also, a long overdue talk with Luann and Toni, where Luann finally gets a sense of direction after saving Mrs Horner is much desired.

Aside from the plot, characters, and setting, this is great stuff. /s. Now can we get back to the shocking sex and violence of the regular strip?

The last 2 weeks have been different. But still not as bad as any story with Bernice or Stef. I prefer seeing these pretty well behaved, imaginary kids over Bernice.

This strip has made me realize why God created badness as well as goodness. What a horrible boring useless world this would be if everyone behaved like this! UGH!

How much longer for this crap?

Everyone hates this but we keep leaving more comments than the regular strip gets so I suggest stop leaving any comments at all to show our disgust-myself included of course.

This is ALMOST as bad as the terrible take over in Alley Oop a few years back when the original team retired. PLEASE…either let the Luann team just peacefully go away or end this nightmare and let Brad wake up. I want to scream!

Greg and Karen, time to move on. You’ve worn out this story line.

Thanks again for another funny, well-drawn strip! This dream arc of “OUR children will be perfect” has been fun. Please accept my apologies for the embarrassing commenters above. I’m so ashamed of them, and I’m sure their mothers would be, too.

What happened? Who ruined this comic?

Here’s a tip: On average, people are averse to change. As a guest artist, if you’re already going with a different art style for a familiar comic, maybe don’t completely change the characters, add new characters, and then run the same joke that “Haha, the strip is different” every single day for a week.

Luann is one of those strips that people follow along for years and years because we know and like the characters. These new, labored artsy-cartoonsy drawings are about as welcome as eggshells in an omelet. May we hope that this excursion is nearly over and that the “real” cast will return soon?

You know who couldn’t adapt to change? Dinosaurs. The fabulously talented guest artist is only here for a couple weeks, yet actual grown-ups are whining like a kid stepped foot on their lawn and now they feel they have to replace the entire lawn.

Luckily for the grumps, G&K will be back soon, so the grumps can continue grumping at G&K, as normal. Sheesh, what a bunch of whiners! So embarrassing! Y’all are lessons on why social media is an abject failure.

I find the facial expressions more than a little disturbing.

If they were doing fantasy anyway, then why not bring back Aaron Hill, Delta, Knute and Krystal? Luann could have imagined how Aaron and/or Delta were doing.

This is so incredibly STUPID. We see that the slave child is now expected to do her homework, but does she get to sit at the kitchen table like a normal kid? No. She sits in a roughshod “tent” with no lamp, using an onion box for a desk and pillows for a chair. And who buys onions by the box anyway? I hope this guy Jay didn’t quit his day job, because NOBODY is ever going to follow his cartoons.
