How much did the Bluey TV show pay to get this advertisement? I am beginning to think Jay Fosgitt is rolling in the promotion money after these last two weeks.
The best panel of all of the Shannon storylines is the last panel here, where Shannon is receiving unrestrained parental love. This kind of parental love heals wounds, past and future.
It’s so sweet. Both Brad and Toni want a Shannon of their own to love, hug, able to make them happy and that can help around the house. The current Shannon isn’t very helpful, but she loves them. Even if in her chaotic, hyperactive way. I hope we won’t have to wait 10 years or more to see them have children.
I like the ‘guest’ artist concept, and think it is a lovely opportunity to consider the many possible script lines, while just tooling around. Nothing permanent, just a light summer diversion ;)
I see Greg and Karen are still promoting child slavery. It certainly isn’t a very good comment on their personalities or values when they portray parents that single out one child to do all their childcare and household duties. Shame on you, Evans’.
Very disappointed in Greg and Karen in allowing their strip to be hijacked. Yes, it’s “only” a cartoon, but for some of us it’s a minor pleasure every morning which has become a sour disappointment knowing what could have been. Put this cartoonist out of his, and our, misery.
The first couple of days were filled with anticipation and excitement. However, the initial optimism quickly faded as the true nature of the situation revealed itself to be nothing more than an over-the-top and cheesy facade.
No disrespect to the guest artist – presumably this is the strip they were asked to draw. Though I can’t imagine Tony daydreaming about being pregnant all the time – that one’s a weird choice. But this is like telling a pretty good joke and then repeating the punchline every single day and saying, “Get it? get it? get it?”
Amazing how many commenters still do not know this is a 2 week span with a guest artist depicting a storyline written by the authors while they are on a break.
Happy Independence Day! 4July. I think it’s sad that none of my favorite cartoons mentioned this important holiday, except “Frank and Ernest”. There was a time when most would……..
And all the kids became chunky like Brad was. Now he’s got Shannon doing their jobs. Poor Toni sacrificed her body for this? They are NOT better than Jonah.
Like I said before, give a hearty thanks to all that is good if the worst of your problems is that this comic strip isn’t to your liking, If it triggers you, identify the problem in, therapy, and let the non complainers enjoy an adult conversation.
I would laugh a hearty laugh if the plan was to pass the baton, like so many other comic strip creators because they’re sick of the mean things people are saying about their art. If any of you had written a story you’d know that it’s not easy to do and they often take on a life of their own.
Might as well add my 2c. I can deal with the saccharine storyline for a week, and I get that the artist is purposely drawing the strip over-the-top this week. But I find it visually annoying, a little more than I like. I am a bit judgy about artwork when it comes to comics; even as a kid I never cared for detailed stuff like Mary Worth, or Steve Canyon. Even Zippy can be a bit much. And this style is a little disorienting. I would not read a strip with this style of artwork. Dilbert and Drabble are more my speed.
Yes, this is booooring!!!! And I liked the Evan’s drawing, but NOT the so called exploits of Shannon, Brad and Tony. Extremely boring AND repetitive!!!!!!!!!!

Brad’s answer is a debatable one since his daydream looks more warped than Toni’s, but yet may be more realistic.
