Les, you and the kitty could have been down a long time ago of you just jumped. You’re not that high.

I can’t believe they continued the pointless and worthless story from last week.

See, I toldja they were on that truck.

Aren’t spouses not allowed to be on the same shift or be in the same firehouse hence under the same captain? The better question probably is whether GnK knows that??

IANAF[irefighter], but somehow I don’t think real firefighters would answer a call dressed like that.

Old home week at the Gulag. So what happens from here? Seems that a lot of new linkups are happening among the principal characters. Ben comes home. Bernice moves in with the DeGroots. Now we see Brad and Toni rubbing elbows with the Greys.

Brad hadn’t been seen with Gunther since he and Diane went on a double date with Luann & Gunther – aside from the wedding. Brad used to tease Luann mercilessly about her “boyfriend,” Gunther.

I can’t wait to see what the fallout from all this will be. Eventually Les and Punk will be rescued I suppose. Perhaps all will be invited to a post Thanksgiving dinner at Irma’s. But I don’t think Les will make a pass at Toni. (Sorry,Mordy)

My prediction is for this week’s story – Al and Guther will explain how Les got up on the roof and then got stuck. Then Brad or Toni will ask why they did not seek other ways to get him down rather than calling 911. Irma intervenes and tells them about Al and Gunther’s idiotic and dangerous ideas of how to get the duo down and that calling 911 was safer. THEN Brad gets a regular ladder from the truck and gets the duo down. Then gives them tips about preventing future mishappens like this – invest in a rooftop ladder and models the department’s ladder. End of the arc. Bring the new one next week, please. This arc has been ridiculous and yawn-worthy.

On November 27, I predicted Brad & Toni would rescue Les and the kitty.

Dang. How are they going to stretch this thin plot over a whole week? Anyway, I’m sure Toni knew it was Gunther’s mother before being told. Because…look at her.

I love how Toni slammed Gun. I say it be over by Wednesday.

I hope this ends better than the last time Brad and Toni were on a ladder together.

For most people the answer is ‘Unfortunately yes’.

A meeting of “second string” characters? All right, who turned on the back burner? And, why?

After the fire truck drives off, Les and Punk will be down off the roof and Irma, Al, and Gunther will be left up on the roof. That takes care of that.

Now, we can see what would really have happened if it would not have just been Les and Punk stuck up there. Betcha Al would have had his henchmen there in a New York second. Or, a Las Vegas second. And with a powered manlift.

Okay, I’ve had a few shots. But this made me laugh.

I think this arc is introducing the characters to each other to set up an arc with Gunther, Brad, Toni, and Les. Maybe something to do with Bets or Tiff.

I bet Les will be down when we return tomorrow to move things forward.

I think everyone knew the story would end with Brad and Toni to the rescue. There may be another twist but I am not seeing it now.

We’re trying very hard NOT to, Les.

Oh, yes, yes, of course! Where is everyone’s manners? Up on the roof, We have that adorable kitten, named Punk. The poor dear is scared and hungry and wants to come down. And that person with Punk is his/her owner/staff member, Les Knox. Les is Al’s nephew. Les is also the son of your hated tormentor, Ann Eiffel. You remember her, right? She once, fired You Brad. And threaten to sue You and Shannon, Toni. But no worries. Les HATES his mother as much as two-thirds of the fanbase does. So don’t hold any of that against him! And “Bad Boy” Les has changed for the better over the years! (Allegedly). But to find out, let Toni go up the ladder FIRST.

Now, get them all down, chop-chop! And then enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner at Irma’s that can’t be beat! Oh. And now might not be a good time to remind you of the Fire Chief’s policy on rescuing cats and their owners, but since the “cat’s out the bag” here it is:

Looking at Gunther’s expression in the last panel it appears that he has forgotten why the Fire Department was called out. Actually he looks annoyed to be reminded that Leslie exists.

I wonder if the Pitt Fire Department has formed a specialize cat rescue squad? Or is this the EMT truck because Brad and Toni are not wearing regulation fire fighting outfits. Since they could be diverted to a real emergency at any moment I would think the department would insist on proper attire. But if this is cat-rescue squad then I guess uniform slacks and blouses would be OK.

Like everyone else I have no idea how GnK plan to fill out this week. They set up the ladder and goat(ee) boy climbs down, then off to the next emergency. There is no time for socializing or sitting down for Turkey dinner. So what happens over the next five days? Will Jack power-walk by the Grey’s and tell Gunther about Bernice’s mental problems? Maybe Bets will come back to complain that Gunther hasn’t been “missing her” sufficiently. Maybe Dick Tracy, disguised as a kitten will arrest Uncle Al for the sins of his youth. A Dick Tract cross-over might save this week.

Is that a basic First Aid kit Toni’s carrying, or, is she supposed be a FF/Paramedic like Gage and DeSoto on Emergency?

Real world: passerby videos the social gathering. The video is posted to YouTube. The local news channel features this “emergency call” and the social gathering. This video becomes a main item of topic at the next local government meeting. S**t then rolls down hill.

Brad Degroot works at Fire Station 3, Toni is carrying a EMT Bag. Brad knows Gunther through Luann’s high school days.If Brad is familiar with the The Fuse, he should know that Al Gray is a partner with his parents.Leslie Knox is the stranger in this episodeand is holding a cat in his lap called Punk that is like a “Dr. Evil”, Austin Powers movie.

When I proposed to my future wife, who I met at the office, my manager said, and I quote: “Don’t expect to get holiday time together for your honeymoon.” We did get it and then worked side-by-side for more than 20 happy and productive years.

Poor Les.

I find it hard to believe that Brad and Toni haven’t met Gunther’s clan..

After they get Les and Punk down, Punk will run up to the roof again.

Brad and Mr Gray should know each other from when Mr Gray was helping Brad’s folks build the Fuse.

I’m surprised Brad and Toni are working together, but it’s good to see them both ♡. It’s nice to see that Toni remembers Gunther. Brad had a very low idea of ​​him, now they seem like old friends ♡. I think the writers forgot that Brad and Toni work at different stations – or where they finally transferred to be together?

We have a problem here. All fire fighters arrive in full gear. They never know what they may encounter. No fire fighter EVER goes to a situation dressed like those two do.

Meanwhile, Les continues his James Taylor number—-

“Don’t worry Les. We’ll get Punk down real quickly now.”

It doesn’t appear that Greg and Karen remember when and under what circumstances Toni met and interacted with Gunther. Today’s commenters do however.

After reading all the comments, I wonder if GnK need to hire a continuity checker. Next they need a fire and rescue consultant; at least for work uniforms and more. I’m expecting a lecture on ladder safety soon.

They need to buy a ladder. If they don’t have a way to get it home, they can wait for delivery.

This is the most picked apart strip since Les “kidnapped” Punk.

Fire departments use wood ladders because they stand up to high temperatures better before they fail. They are not the first choice for homeowners. They are kept indoors and require constant maintenance.

What happened to Mr. Gray’s repair squad?

Many have been asking: “Where is this arc leading?”

Here’s a wild thought. Maybe this incident will inspire Mr. Knox to become a fireman.

Or at least to buy a decent sized ladder.

Why was Gunther at the wedding? Also do people really remember folks who they only met at their wedding years previous?

:-) Hmmm, all these introductions may lead to a slew of new story lines. Interesting that Irma is Irma, but Al Grey is still Mr. Grey. Oh, and don’t forget the purpose of the emergency call…. man on roof with kitten! ;-D Can’t wait to see what Les’s reactions will be.

Not to be too literal here, but isn’t it usually the practice for people with long hair to do it up in a bun to avoid having it get caught in the equipment, resulting in a nasty accident?

If this was New York City or Los Angeles, Brad and Toni would be fired for not wearing masks while Gunter, Irma, and Al would be arrested for gathering outside and not being 6’ apart. Thus poor old Les will starve / freeze to death while holding Punk the cat.

The rest of the week: A house fire breaks out in the kitchen where Irma Gray left a saucepan unattended (karma for deriding Al and Gunther for being “men” in Saturday’s panel). Brad and Toni rush to change into firefighting clothes. By this time the house is significantly damaged. Irma and Mr. Gray conclude they will move into the gulag with Les & Gunther until the house is repaired. Les & Gunther will be forced to share a bedroom. Meanwhile, Les is still on the roof alone after Punk ran down the downspout.

Toni works at Fire Station 4 , Brad works at Fire Station 3, but Toni is carrying EMT kit? Also, Toni is wearing a white shirt.

Ummm…Hello! A 911 call is for an emergency. Direct them to Les who’s ON THE ROOF, then have the reunion afterwards…geesh!

Wait, wasn’t “Mr Gray” intimately involved in getting The Fuse set up and running? Or did Brad have little to do with that project of his parents’?

Wonder if Brad and Toni know that Al is Ann Eiffel’s brother…..

They’re wearing ties? Really? No firefighter I ever knew (and I’ve known a few) ever wore a tie to a call. Not even a stuck-kitty-in-a-tree call.

From time to time the characters of Luann drift into an amnesiatic state and have to be introduced to each other all over again. I am convinced this is being caused by a covert plot by Ben to put drugs in the water source for the town.

Well, Les, they have been Trying to forget.

Everybody predicted this. We knew it would be Brad and Toni to the rescue.

Now, don’t be pushy, Leslie. Let the good folks do their introductions before they rescue you and your feline, okay?

The less they remember about the earlier Leslie, the more they can like the current Leslie.

Send him up a drumstick while you reminisce — and something nice for Punk.
