Tiffany and Bets: Gun and ox are seeing the result of what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.

Questions that will never be answered: Did Tiffany ever turn in her business plan for TT42? Did Bets actually pay for the fabric used to make their costumes? Did Gunther flunk his math finals because he spent all his time sewing costumes? Also will Ben ever explain why he brought his wife’s children with him to the States? How can a man with a medical based management skill set be unemployed during a pandemic?

Bets: “I ordered a pirate theme! I had Gunther make costumes!” Wow.

Tomorrow will we see Gunther and Ox commenting on the spat? OR Will we be be privy to a knock-down, hair pulling donnybrook?

Business 101, day one: “The customer is always right”; Tiffany must have been absent that day

Want a pirate theme? Well start acting act like pirates; take that rich girl hostage and hold her for ransom; if Daddy won’t pay it, make her walk the plank and post THAT on U tube.

Meanwhile, back at the Fuse, Nancy is wondering where everybody went, and so are the customers.

No way Gunner is getting lucky tonight. But, hey, the customer is always right…even if that customer is Bets.

This isn’t about a mood. This was never an evening for two. This was a themed posted planned for Bet’s channel, an evening for 2 + x viewers. Gunther is just there to be the costume creator on demand. I am hoping this is the last straw for Gunther.

Take “yes” for an answer Bets…besides, you can always give her a bad Yelp review. Better shut It down Tiff

Tiff the cheerleader has become a matronly lady of girth. Totally classy. Clean sheets, and no crackers or pirate boots allowed on the bed.

All i can say is go back to March 27 strip. Tiff wanted it one way and Bets wanted her way.

I get people getting upset at Bets and why, but she DID request a pirate-themed dinner. Well meaning though she may be, Tiff did not deliver and put her own interests first. That’s a bad business move. Bets had something planned in advance and Tiff ruined that.

My prediction for tomorrow: Bets continues her meltdown and tells Gunnie that they are leaving immediately. Gunnie is then put into a situation where he either tells Bets that he likes what Tiff put together or he submits and leaves. Knowing Gunther, this will create a huge conflict for him, does he follow Bets or tell her to chill out and enjoy the evening?

(ding!) And the battle of the self-centered is off! On the left, Bets is only concerned about her viewership. On the right, Tiff completely disregarded her customer’s wishes and went for what she’d want instead. Who will win? Gunther… presuming he can polish off the meal before Bets comes up for air to force him to leave.

Oredove? If that’s an Oreo cookie coated in Dove milk chocolate then count me in, too. For two, please!

In this case, BETs did not get what she ordered and paid for.

A partnership fails before it begins.

I’m with Bets on this one. The customer is always right. If Tiffany didn’t want to do what the customer asked she should have turned down the job.

Gunther & Ox should go out for an hour for a smoke (I know – nobody smokes in cartoons).

There goes what looked like a real friendship between Tiffany & Bets. I hope this doesn’t portend an exit for one of them. Tiffany is definitely necessary to the strip – in recent years she has fueled many arcs.

Oh Bets, please go away. And Gunther, pay attention to your girlfriend. Is she still the girl you want to be with?

Bets is being very unappreciative here. Tiff put so much money and effort into the dinner.

Why must Ox almost always pronounce these French words correctly? And why is that a joke? Such a “big guy dumb” stereotype. And they should pour some wine. A sip or two will make Gunther pass out. Now that would be funny.

It looks like it maybe time for Tiff and Bets to draw swords….Loser walks THE PLANK!

The end of a friendship and a possible great partnership. So sad… The saddest part is that Gunther seems to have seen Bets do it so many times to got used to these scenes. Tiffany and Bets are both stubborn, I really hope to see them together as an unstoppable duo. But they have a lot of changes to make on themselves.

Blondie has never had this problem with her catering business. But then—she’s a pro.

Tiffany wants to be a business woman. Then she better learn that a contract is a contract, needs to be followed and the deliverables delivered! It matters a hill of beans that it is her house or that she might have spent more for the decor. The purchase contract was for a pirate experience, not whatever Tiffany wanted to substitute. Bets has every right to be angry and to demand a refund or to not pay.

I think too many people here can’t handle a strong woman. If Bets was a man hardly anyone would be complaining.

Ive read a lot of these comments siding with Tiffany but not 1 of them holds water. Regardless of Tiffanys stance , her concept was not what her client wanted yet she went against that anyway.So all these arguments that so and so didnt listen make no sense.Bets clearly told Tiffany that she wanted a pirate theme but Tiffany decided that it didnt matter what her client wanted that her theme was law. If Tiffany wanted a specific type of venue not a client requested one then she should have said so and remained firm on that but thats not what she did. So Bets should get a refund, its not her fault that Tiffany decided to blow more cash either so Tiffany deserves to eat it for misleading her client.

Bets is good for Gunther, showing him how not to get pushed around by someone who disrespected her by not providing what she paid for.

Bail out now while they’re not watching you, Gunther. Just run out the door and call an Uber. Any minute now they’re going to tell you to pick a side and you’re done for no matter which way you go.

If you do not want to do what the customer wants, then you do not accept the contract. That your vision was more expensive and better according to your taste does not matter.

You can’t go to a French restaurant and demand they serve you German food. Same thing applies here. Tiffany’s “restaurant” is a certain theme and type of food. No matter how much Bets wants to pay, there are only certain options. Tiff told her what type – romantic. If Bets doesn’t like it, she needs to find somewhere else. I hope that Gunther stands his ground because apparently HE likes it.

some say the customer is always right. that’s if you are a bonafide business and determined to have more of the same. This is a private home and Tiff is just trying out, as an experiment, the type of the offering that she described. Creating the kind of scene that Bets wanted, i.e. turning her dad’s home into a scene of cobwebs, coffins, skulls, ship hulls and other paraphernalia is complex and almost an insult to the business venture Tiff was thinking of. It would require a lot cleaning afterwards. I don’t blame her for not wanting to do this. And most of all Tiff is just not into this cosplay pretend kind of thing. Tiff is into genuine romance. This is where Tiff and Bets differ.

Gunther seems to enjoy it.

Waiting for Bets to say something about “ruining her instacrap views” and Gunther to figure out this evening had nothing to do with him.

Yeah, yeah yeah. Knew it would come down to this. Will be interesting to see how Gunth rescues them both from themselves.

First rule of business – Give the customer what they want.

They never showed the conversation when Bets paid Tiffany. I’m sure Bets said pirate several times during the conversation so Tiffany was in error taking the money but not providing what was ordered. She gets to learn about customer satisfaction and signing contracts today.

I have to admit that I give on Gunther liking the theme, including the Hors Dourves. How that fits into how this arc turns out will be fun to see. Somehow I think these two stubborn women will come to terms, although Tiffany made a serious mistake by not following what she outwardly agreed to. This is a contract breach and Bets would have a good case for the return of her money, but I think another crazy but sensible, in the Luannverse sense, solution will present itself. Calling Bets selfish, or wishing for a breakup is disturbing, but I doubt that is what is meant to happen with this set of panels. I may be 100% wrong but if so I’ll take the hit.

Tiffany’s business won’t last long, if she won’t deliver what the customer PAYS for!

I would love to see Gunther tell Bets that this is nice and he would like to stay for the meal and then have Bets scream something like “but our fans are expecting pirates” and then Gunther could be shown with a light bulb over his head.

Hmm… Tiffany accepted money for this “experiment?” Someone seems to be operating a lavish restaurant in a neighborhood that is undoubtedly zoned residential. What’s that? No permit? No health department inspection? Zowie! County code enforcement to the rescue!

Oooo I like this story line! I have no idea where it’s going but I hope it doesn’t disappoint! :D

Gunther put an incredible amount of work into those costumes. Gun should take Bets out dancing somewhere. That would get some attention. But I recall Gunther can’t dance. Maybe after a few rum & cokes…

This is what I’D like to see happen. I really don’t think that Bets and Gunther are a good match. She basically TELLS Gunther what he’s going to do — Gunther is in denial (oh no, she convinced me to do what she wanted). Let Bets storm out of the house, and let Gunther and Tiffany have a nice, romantic dinner together.

Used to be an Event Planner. Everything in writing and agreed and signed by both parties. Deposit upon signing. Balance and request for added services two weeks before event. Results: No problems…no misunderstandings. Apparently this did not occur, both parties eat the blame.

Notice that while Tiffany and Bets are fighting it out, Gunther maintains his composure and has some “oredove.”

I think at the end of this, Gunther is going to say “I have had enough of the both of you and am going back to my books.”

So…if this is a school project, who is there to grade it? How would that person know whether it was a success or not (Tiffany could take a few well edited pictures?) or whether or not it was even a legal event where the health department, etc. were concerned? I would expect something like this to be put on at school rather than privately at home. (If we’re talking Covid concerns with classes from home, the entire thing should be Zoomed at the very least, and not by Bets to her fans.)

I liked Bets when she first appeared, but she is definitely too self-centered, controlling, and extremely bosses. She is worse than Tiffany ever was…

I think Gunther and Ox will have dinner and a show, complete with fireworks.

This is just a failure to communicate which exemplifies what is happening today in social media. People shouting their views at each other, no one paying attention to anyone who disagrees with them and this is what you end up with: Tiffany coming up with the idea for romantic dinner for two, Bets says, “great, I want a pirate theme”, Tiffany says, “great, I don’t do pirates”. Bets doesn’t hear Tiffany and expects pirates. Tiffany doesn’t hear Bets and does what she said she’d do. No one is happy. its red states vs. blue states! Bets reveals herself as a self-centered you know what: she wasn’t thinking of a romantic dinner for two, but for an event that she could promote to her FB followers. She’s a very interesting character and thus will probably stay around, but Gunther could do better and should dump her.

How old is Betts? Twelve?

It would be pretty funny if it turned out that Bets was accidentally streaming this to her fans the entire time…

Can we all agree to let Strother Martin lie peacefully in his grave, and stop digging him up repeatedly????!!!!

Bets needs to learn that she isn’t the center of the universe… or disappear.

Bets is self-centered? She paid $300 for an event that she didn’t get. And Tiffany is projecting her views on a customer, albeit a forced upon her customer.

Commenters are getting wrapped around the axle about some kind of contract being involved. There was no mutually accepted terms of performance. This is one of those unfortunate occurrences that arise that engender hurt feelings and, potentially, loss of friendship. Peripheral parties are sometimes coerced into “choosing sides.”

I hope this works out that none of this happens.

I’m glad the 2 guys are concentrating on the food. I hope we get to see the rest of the meal.

Is it G&K’s point to make us „hate“ either Bets or Tiffany or both? Since Tiffany is the legacy character, perhaps Bets is on the chopping block.

From the looks of it, perhaps it is Bets that is getting written out of the strip. Heaven knows, Bets „haters“ now seem to outnumber Gunther „haters“. Who’d a thunk?

While Bets helped with an idea, the Business belongs to Tiffany, who can run her business any way she likes (however she was in the wrong by taking the money and doing something different, both are in the wrong here)

Maybe Bets’ inline audience would enjoy seeing a realtime “knock down, drag out, fight” between Bets and Tiff instead of a “Cosplay” fantasy… ;-D 8-D

Bets and Gunther do not match, personality-wise. He won’t be ever able to match her energy because he’s an introvert. Bets is better off finding someone more into her shtick.

All in all, I think it is a fair reading of this “Bets” character as portrayed to date, that the creators want us to see a person that is, at her core, self-absorbed, demanding and manipulative. What you see is what you get!

I hope Gunther dumps her soon. I’m so sick of her self centered need to be an ‘influencer’ online. SMH!

Oh, boy, will this argument continue for the rest of the week? Gunther seems to be enjoying the hor’dourves. Hope he doesn’t ask what he’s eating? Lol! Although if Tiff went to this much trouble, I’m sure the food will be good. .Bets’ attitude is annoying. Exit one tutor and supposed supporter.

There is a different way this could go – Gunther could just let Bets steam off in a huff, and since he has been part of the cosplay/comic con team, I am sure he has followers as well. Remember at the con, everyone was saying, “Hey, look, it’s Gunther and Bets” not “Hey, look, it’s Bets!”. He now has a recognition factor. Tiff also has a certain recognition factor in being the actual character from “Eyes Of Zye”. Now, if Gunther wanted to have some fun (and not let that dinner go to waste), he could ask Tiff go put on that outfit (I know, it might be a tad tight), and they could have a dinner on camera that could be posted where the fans could see them, and seeing Gunther with someone else would definitely drive up the commentary/viewership, much to Bet’s dismay. Of course, all that will never happen, but…

I’m kinda of disappointed in the way Bet’s is being betrayed lately. I like her but right now she is coming off a little too pushy. I think both girls are at fault here. They are so much a like, really. Tiffany was and still is self absorbed with her looks and Bets is self absorbed with her followers. I hope the two can come together at the end of this and learn from this experience. When doing business you need a contract of some kind. I hope the writers are not getting rid of Bets. I don’t want Bets to go!!!

I can’t blame Betts. If I paid for something specific, that is what I would expect to receive. Betts needs her money back. Tiffany never said that she wouldn’t give Betts a night in a pirate themed setting. Tiffany is being self centered here. It is like someone asking for the top music video of the year and giving them a video of Christmas music because you love Christmas music.

It’s Bett’s order and Bett’s money. I can’t believe how many are sliding with Tiffany. Betts made it perfectly clear what she wanted and that it was her money. So what if it is Tiffany’s house. Betts never agreed to pay for a classy setting. She did say she wanted pirates and that she expected them. Tiffany is totally in the wrong.

Come on Gunther, grow a pair, just walk up to Bets, take her aside, and Woo her! Tell her that even though this is not what she was expecting, the most important thing for Gunther is that she thought of him and spending time with her is the most important part of the evening.

Tiff is not giving Bets what she wanted: Tiff is giving Bets what Tiff thinks that Bets SHOULD have wanted!

Tiffany tried to tell Bets that this is what she had in mind. And Bets tried to tell Tiffany what she wanted. Lack of communication. I really don’t care for Bets.

Methinks it can only go downhill from here.

Tiffany doesn’t understand that one person’s “Romantic Dinner” is another person’s personal nightmare.

Have Bets and Gunther ever been alone on a date?

Alone as in two people—-no phones.

Bets lets everyone know who she is and what’s important to her. She hasn’t been deceitful to anyone. Her media obsession doesn’t make her a bad person. It’s up to Gunther to take it or leave it.

Bets said she “paid” for skulls and crossbones. Paid is past tense so that means she already paid Tiffany.

For evidence that no verbal agreement or contract was made, look at the March 27 panels. They are are the only place where a discussion of what the theme would be took place. Then if you look at March 29, it is clear that Tiff is going ahead with her own plan.

Gunther looks like he’s about to ask for some Grey Poupon . :-/

I love the way Gunther is just playing right into it, enjoying the decors and setting (ignoring the scene at left). At some point Tiff will realize she needs to break off the argument so she can salvage her plan for the dinner.

Once again Gunther is portrayed as a passive member of this relationship. I’m surprised Bets allows him time for his studies.

I hope this doesn’t hurt their friendship.
