Well, this just turned into a Greg and Marcia Brady moment. . . .

I don’t believe it! This is really hard to swallow! Oh well. Maybe he’s with another hunky fireman.

I think I would recognize my brother, or my sister from behind. Also my mother and father. They’re family you see them all the time, front back and sideways.

Congrats to Kymberleigh and Nickl’s for NAILING the “mystery guy” as being Brad.

And condolences to all those who wanted the guy to be Quill and/or Aaron Hill.

Actually, the “guy” being Brad is a good thing. He’s got plenty of stories to tell being a firefighter.

Not to mention doing “battle” with his sister, Luann back in the day.

But if Luann really wants to push an envelope, and as an experiment, she should NOT tell Tara that Brad is her brother.

If Tara thinks Brad’s a “hunk,” it would be interesting, to see if she makes a “pass” at him.

SO is this a ploy to introduce Tara to Brad? And why didn’t Luann recognize her own brother even from the back? She ought to know his body shape and hair. Brad, my advice? Make your order quickly and run. You don’t want to know Tara.

You’d think that Brad’s spiky hair would give it away.

Seems to me you’d recognize your own brother at a glance. You don’t have to see his face or scrutinize every detail about him. His essence is there. You smell him—feel him—recognize very small things about him—posture—movements. How on earth could she not recognize her own brother?

Sooo, who is the mystery man? Piro? Mini Elvis? Must have been someone else standing behind Brad that Tara was talking about, even though Luann was pointing at her own bro. But, then, if we looked at the earlier Mr. Couch Potato Brad and saw the new Brad side by side without an introduction, we might not have known it was him. Perhaps Luann has regressed to prior to the 9 – 11 incident and does not recognize her own bro….

I totally agree with Tara, Brad is a hunk! I like this story, Tara is able to make Luann try to do things she usually wouldn’t do, but then she always stays by her side, ready to support her. Now I think Luann will introduce her brother to Tara and thinking about how she’s like, maybe talking with Brad will make her consider becoming a firefighter. She might be perfect for that job. This was really a great exercise to distract Luann’s mind to her writing block.

It’s a stretch, but now that Luann’s new “romantic interest” is nothing more than a surprise meeting between siblings, and since Tara thinks he’s a hunk, and Luann will introduce the two, might we see a bit of flirtation from Tara towards Brad?

Had a similar situation to this in college. Was at a huge party and this group of girls came in. One of them saw me and waved at me so my buddies pushed me over in her direction. Turns out it was my cousin! Oops!

what is disturbing to me is that Luann does everything Tara suggests; some suggestions are useful, i.e those that relate to writing and developing thinking skills. But what Tara asked her to do now was totally unnecessary. Luann needs to be able to chart her own path and not be sheep-like e.g. doing whatever certain persons tell her.

That’s really how family bonding works. Or doesn’t work. A college friend was home for the holidays when she passed her teenage brother in the semi-dark hallway one night. Love at first glance! Until she remembered where she was and realized who he was A coworker had the same reaction seeing her 16-year old son’s backside in his tighty-whities in the kitchen late one night. The “Ew!” factor doesn’t kick in unless you recognize them. Until then, a hunk is a hunk.

“No, no, NO. BRAD isn’t hunky. He’s dorky.”

Thus, Luann and Tara failed to reach accord.

I am surprised and disappointed when I shouldn’t be. G+K only ever dump on Luann or make her the fool. I was hoping Luann would meet a new guy and this strip would grow up a bit.

Haven’t read all the comments yet, so if someone else has mentioned this, I apologize. But just saying somebody is a “hunk” doesn’t mean that a female (even one as unpredictable as Tara) is immediately going to go in pursuit of the guy. I’m not saying that she won’t, but I don’t think it’s fair to assume that she will just because she noticed his good looks. As always, time will tell!
