I dropped my subscription (of 30 years) to my local newspaper because they dropped you. And I signed up for this column. Love you, dear, keep on trucking!
Definitely sounds like "done with the daily strip but maybe moving on to another venue?! PS, I got engaged 45years ago today..Indeed, where does the time go?!
Three days early, if the archive is to be believed, but then again we’re talking the Sunday strip here. Congratulations (and many thanks) Wiley! You’ve been my constant companion.
hahaha you made a pun! Wow! Congratulations on your anniversary! You have brought so much joy and comfort to me and mine these 30 years!! thank you thank you thank you!! We love ♥️ you Wiley!
Reminds me of my sister in law. When she heard her daughter was pregnant her first reaction was a joyful “I am going to be a grandma”A few days later she was complaining becoming a grandma made her feel old.
. I first starting reading your strip in the 1990s in the Traverse City Record Eagle, I would hate to see you end. Maybe you could do a Gary Trudeau and just write Sunday strips. Or possibly go back to the beginning with Non Sequitur Classic, if you are going to retire I would like that a lot.
The only original comic strip I own is one of your Sunday works of art — I bought it years ago and have it framed and in my office. It’s a treasure. You are too. Thank you!
Ditto all the above, especially the comment by Arbitro95. One of the best comics ever. I hold it equal to my personal favorite of over 75 years – Prince Valiant. And my wife colors all the special bears issues.
Whatever you decide, may you enjoy the best of it for many years.
Thank you, Mr. Miller, for 30 years of very funny, often acerbic, but always insightful and thought-provoking cartoons. I cannot sufficiently express my admiration of your artistry and wit. Non Sequitur and you are truly international treasures!
Been looking forward to your cartoons every day for decades. Haven’t had an actual paper newspaper in over 17 years but there’s several NS cartoons on my fridge which still make me giggle! Thanks so much for the wild ride, congrats!
As someone who was also born in 1951 and just setting out on a new path as a writer, I hope to continue to enjoy your strips for many years to come. Thanks for the great strips and the enjoyment you have given me Mr. Wiley!!!
Maybe you could saunter off into graphic novels like Dan Piraro has done. A longer story about any one the host of characters you’ve created over the years? Or maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and this will have been a dream.
Thank you, Wiley, for 30 years of light. Albert Camus wrote, “Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth.” Your comics serve as a form of Rorschach test (inkblot?), giving us to fanciful way to view reality. May you continue to lighten our minds and hearts for along time to come.
Wiley, it has been a pleasure to “stick with your silliness” over the years, which is funny, touching, trenchant, illuminating and insightful. Many thanks for your wonderful work and viewpoint, I’m looking forward to more!
Congratulations and thank you, Mr. Miller, for all you’ve done over the past 30 years. Please send my best regards to all your characters. I hope you’ll continue to bring us Non Sequiturs for just as long as you feel like doing so!
Remember: after you pass a milestone, your mile will feel a whole lot better.
I use one of yours in my ethics class to illustrate a principle and your “Its not the size of the splash but the joy along the way” has been hanging on my fridge for a long time. I hope you keep going but thanks for the best over the last 30 years!
Thank you everyone for your kind words, but there seems to be a misinterpretation by some here. No, I am not planning on retiring. Not planning on going another 30 years either!
30 years?! Dang, time flies when you’re having fun. Thank you, Wiley. You’re art, humor, and philosophy are lights of hope in an often dim world. Bless you.
Wow? That long? I’ve “been with you for 30 years”! Time does fly when you are Reading Fun! Keep it going – we Need you in this Crazy World – you certainly have enough material to draw on (pardon the pun!) K.H.
Aha, I agree with that Wiley. In that I hope we do not have to draw or type things. Can’t we develop things in the future to make life easer and pleasanter! I sure hope so!
Wiley, as a retired (much too early) teacher of gifted kids, I love living vicariously through Danae’s antics! May you and your highly gifted imagination, and your muse continue to have many adventures. Thank you for being part of my therapy! ;-)
Thank you for your marvelous perspectives on the humor and pathos of life. It’s made the journey for all of us better. Congratulations! We’re glad you’re here!
And thank you, Mr. Miller. Your work is in its own, shall I say, slightly twisted but thoroughly engaging way, a beacon of sanity. I hope that we can look forward to rooting for the Danae and the Wiley Bears for a long time.
Wiley, always great to see your take on the world. I came upon you many years ago and never want to let you go! All the very best and congratulations from the ‘other’ side of the Pacific.
Congrats to one of the best Comics ever. I appreciate the wit and the intelligence. I wish the stupid San Diego Union Tribune would let you out of the doghouse

Wiley, have a great time making us laugh … When you retire, they’ll run your stuff in syndication, like so many other strip’s … They’ll still make us laugh! :D
Many women would leave a comment here but they’re too busy taking care of the house while the retired husband plays games on his phone/fishes/golfs.Just sayin’ ;)
@WILEY, got us hooked into liking your daily silliness and now you are telling us that “Just get over it” ? ! ! ! Now looky here Wiley Boy, it doesn’t work like that, just keep on keeping it on, will’ya ?n and by the way more Wiley bears if you don’t mind
